Photographer Cindy Escarcega

When I point my lens, my goal is to capture the simplistic beauty of my city and my communities that are often ignored or overlooked. I enjoy naturalness, real emotion, and stories of the moment that cannot be reduplicated once gone.
My passion is to bring awareness to the unbreakable spirit of the community and highlight some of the most stereotyped area codes in L.A. I believe more positive exposure is needed of the places and people who remain resilient in a system meant to break many. I hope to reframe negative media perceptions and the miseducation of our society to visually capture the true meaning of beauty in the struggle.
