Artist Tricia Sunray Healy

I am a self taught artist who received two scholarships to the Art Students League. Going into a trance like state while painting images start to come to life in a field of color to create an emotional and visceral experience through a vibrant color palette. It is an exploration of my spirit and psyche manifesting in an atmosphere of inspiration and hope. The word transformation is a key component in my artwork starting with an idea and once painting begins images emerge that will transform in a new direction as if by divine guidance filled with many mythic symbols.

30 x 22″ Mixed Media Watercolors, Acrylic with Assemblage including plastics, tree branches, feathers.

“Our Mother is Dying”

This painting was accepted by jury for the Artbox Projects Zurich and is currently on display virtually there.
Created during Covid 19 quarantine in New York from March to June 2020 it is a statement about how mother earth is being suffocated by plastics and pollution, burning from climate change and deforestation. The lungs of our planet are losing strength and we too will suffer this outcome if we do not take action now.

40 x 26″ Mixed Media Acrylics, Watercolors, Dr. Martin inks.

“Shaman My Spiritual Father”

Created 2013 after my brother passed away from brain cancer this was in honor of his beautiful spirit taking flight to other realms. Composed of many symbols a mandala of three moths, the kundalini being released as it uncoils and returns to its source.

20 x 16″ Watercolors, Acrylics, pen and inks.

“Cycle of Life aka Nurturing/Devouring Mother”

Created in 2015 reflects my fascination with life and death to me there is no end just a transformation of our consciousness. One does not exist without the other and once one journey ends another begins.
